Speaking of letters, Jane is all fired up about reading. She sounds out letters on signs, and always asks me what that word says. One of her favourites is: 'C-V-S; that spells kah-VISS!'

On a rainy day last week, I asked her what letter umbrella started with. After correctly answering U, she added, 'It's a short U. If umbrella had a long U, it would be OOM-brella!' This is another one of her favourite pastimes, the random hypothetical. 'But if you said yes, Mama, then I could climb on the back of the couch!'

I am finally getting around to posting these. We had such a great visit, and yet for all that we only took a few pictures!

Mission statement

The purpose of this blog is to disburse, en masse, lots and lots of photos to adoring relatives, some of whom do not have quite as fast an internet connection as we do, thus bogging down their email when I get overly enthusiastic and send off an email with twenty attachments. We do take lots and lots of pictures around here. But we tend to go in spurts. So as to prevent a lag in posting, I'll try to post at least a few times a week, but if I don't have any new content, then I'll go back and post old pictures from the past. There now, that about covers it.

Welcome to our blog!

Hello, near and dear ones! I am, alas, not as good at emailing pictures as I should like, and I often run into overload difficulties when I try to email too many pictures at once. I hope this blog will provide a good way to keep in touch with everyone and show off our lovely little girls (of whom we have tons of pictures, oh yes) with a minimum of fuss and trouble all around.

This blog will be listed privately, but please feel free to forward on the link to any other family members or interested parties that I may have missed.
